My brain is totally stuck in island life. And while I do live on an island and still have an island life, I also have another life, a mainland America one. I have friends and family close by, birthday parties, and baseball games, and photo shoots to do. I bought a calender, filled out October, and now I cannot find it.
I am guessing I am about 1/10 as busy as most American families. The boys have baseball 1-2 days a week, I have a 2-3 photography sessions a month, and we have 2-3 family/friend activities a month. When you figure I don’t work and the boys do school at home, those activities take up a teeny portion of our “free” time, the rest we are total beach bums.
All that to say that my island brain is taking some getting used to adding an activity, or 2. This past week I scheduled 2 photo shoots, a family party and trip, a baseball banquet, and the boys last baseball game all on the same day. I was having the best time planning all these activities independantly and then Jarrett looked at me like I was crazy and said you know this is all on the same day, right?!
Um, no, I did not even think of that. I think I need to take a class on Soccer Mom Skills 101. If you knew my mom and sister you would think I am adopted, they are the organizers of the year, maybe I should filter all my plans or lack thereof through them.
Anyways, I was thinking all this because I could not remember what happened last week or the week before that! Why can’t I remember what I did? why did I not homeschool very much? or lay around at the beach? And then I uploaded my photos from the last 2 weeks, and was like OMG! These are the only winter clothes I own. I do own a pair of blue jeans, but when I went to try them on, they no longer fit. Dang you Texas and all your delicious food! These are some workout capri pants my mom gave me in Colorado, I borrowed some of Jarrett’s black work socks to make them pants-super dorky. I got these boots when Conner was a baby, and the sweatshirt last year when we were in California with Trek. That’s it and it was freezing. So the boys and I had to go shopping. And then on the way home, Peyton told me he was tired of winter (it had been the first cold day of the year and it was only lunch time) and I said, me too!!! we are such babies.Image may be NSFW.
